Discover Old World Scottish Charm

In the early 1800’s, on the Links of Leith in Edinburgh, Scotland — considered by many to be the
birthplace of golf — members of the Thistle Golf Club stood out among the various clubs of the
time and became known for the respectful way in which they conducted their activities both on and
off the course. Today, Thistle honors the legendary Thistle Golf Club of Scotland, where golfers
and visitors will see that this rich, uniquely Scottish heritage is especially evident on Tim Cate’s
links-style golf course. This legacy continues throughout the architecture of the Thistle
community, its homes and its clubhouse. There is a distinct Old World European charm here,
unlike anywhere else in the coastal Carolinas.
